Loops.video, the short-form video platform has finally launched, after weeks of delays. There is now an iOS app on TestFlight available, as well as an Android APK, and it there is no waitlist anymore. In some statistics shared by Loops developed Daniel Supernault, Loops now has more than 8000 people signed up and close to a 1000 videos posted.
It takes a while. I waited a couple days for my confirmation mail to arrive. Keep in mind that Loops is being built by a single dev. If you read the toots by @dansup you’ll see that it’s a work in progress.
Interesting, thanks. I was expecting this to go faster now as it seems there isn’t a waiting list anymore
I’ve Loops and can use it, I was in the wait-list and I got an email letting me reset password(3 days ago), and with this new password I was able to log into the Loops apk and website
Oh I didn’t realise you could download the APK.
I got the email (a few days after registering) and it said the Android app was shipping soon. I see now you can download the APK from their help section.
I signed up months ago when it was first announced and just got my account confirmation.
I just tried registering as well, same issue. It looks like a problem with their registration process, I tried resetting my password and it was unable to find my email.
Can’t be an actual Fediverse experience if the registration process is too smooth
SHOTS FIRED, SHOTS FIRED!!
(also entirely true)
I ran into the same issue you did. No verification email, and my login credentials won’t work on the app or on the website.
I got it and I can sign in. But I don’t see any videos.
I can’t log into the website. I type in my info and click continue, and nothing happens. It’s like the continue button isn’t hooked up to anything
When will a client be available on fdroid?
Untill then im not gonna try
It works fine. Not many videos there - but it’s early days. It doesn’t seem to be a desktop app. Works through the Loops app.
I just made my account to secure my spot in line!
I think the process is not automated yet. If you want to, you can follow the dev at Mastodon to get info about loops
