Nice! I’ve job hopped a few times and tripped my salary in 5 years and am at a unicorn msp with unlimited PTO and management that cares about employees.
I wish I could find a union IT shop, but nothing around that I’ve seen available. Happy to hear my first statement isn’t as universal as my experience suggests!
There are dozens of us (working for MSPs because in house doesn’t pay as well and companies are cheap and want to outsource that cost center)!
I don’t think I’ll ever get a flip phone until they improve the clamshell design. I’ve got a friend who just had one die because their kid (denies, but likely did) closed something between the two halves and the top of the screen shattered and rendered the phone unusable.
She still has hers and has had it for a couple years, but that kind of fragility is a no go for my clumsy and forgetful ass.
I don’t vape nicotine, so those sorts of things are basically out of my reach. I wish I lived in a legal state and I could get liquid refill bottles.
Discarded vapes? The only immediate trip hazard of tripping on discounted vapes would be the mob of people trying to buy them.
I am against defederation in general. I like to be exposed to different opinions and I am fully capable to use my brain to not become an extremist.
Then why the shit are you on an instance that is against all of that lol?
Let’s just ask our ol’ buddy Ernst how that goes.

If there was a way I could leverage the unlimited bandwidth/storage as an offsite backup, that would be amazing, but I’m not sure it would be a great idea backing up stuff to a webserver where there best security I can add it via an .htaccess file.
Your off-site backup solution shouldn’t have to care about that level of security because you should be encrypting your backups before they leave your network. Even if you have a solid backup host in the cloud, you still want to encrypt your backup data before you send it to their hosted repo.
Unless your vendor has a reason to read your backups, they shouldn’t be able to.
Look into FileFlows, I used that after my tdarr server shit the bed to act as my conversion utility for my media libraries. Done a very good job of transcoding my Library into a consistent format.
If you have any inclination to use docker, they offer a generator to make the compose file for you
Who doesn’t have multiple TB of videos just laying around?
Lol, whatever helps you cope.
It was really clear that this family is just scamming people left and right!!
Mainly right tho
LOL, you get the award for most uninformed and ignorant comment of the day. Did you get your views on and the history of the Internet from Ben Shapiro or something?
I can think of well over 400 billion reasons why private industry control of the internet infrastructure is a bad idea.
Just be honest with the recruiter that the particular employer is the issue, but you would be open to discussing other opportunities. That doesn’t burn bridges, and it helps them better determine what you’re looking for.
Only for nazis
Oh wow, the trump campaign doing shit it accused the Democrats of doing?!?!?!
I’m 10000% unsurprised.
Nvidia drivers are the reason I end up going back to windows every time. Once installed they work fine, but installation and updating were always fraught with issues, and would inevitably break and piss me off to the point I gave up and went back to windows.
Haven’t tried since I got my amd card, but maybe Nvidia Linux drivers are less terrible than they had been.
It might work that way, actually .
Just because the phone is encrypted doesn’t mean there’s not an exploit that makes it easier to bypass or extract the passphrase. Celebrite is unfortunately pretty good at attacking out of support phone and breaking into them.
Use a modern, supported OS on a device put out by a trusted vendor and you’re probably ok. But old software/hardware makes it much easier to bypass.
